It seems that today’s world is sending the church down a slippery slope, dangerously impacting the approach of making of disciples. Far too many ministries focus on numbers, finances, and overall popularity. Nowhere is this more evident than with our youth. Our increasingly post-Christian culture needs a reset and reminder of Jesus’ picture of discipleship.

“Beyond the Edge of the Water” brings readers back to the biblical model of discipleship. Steven Kozak paints a vivid picture of the current cultural context and why efforts to make disciples is largely failing. Then he takes the reader through various passages in Scripture and brings to light aspects of following Jesus that have been neglected or forgotten.

Through real-life examples and his own story, Kozak shows that Jesus’ model is not only doable but necessary in the twenty-first century western world.

Subtitled “How to Find Hope When You’re Hurting,” the book provides real, raw, honest and hopeful conversation about suffering, loss and grief from a Christian perspective. The author is a seminary graduate as well as a trained counselor and educator, and the text of this 114-page gift-sized hardback reflects a solid underpinning of biblical truth and Trinitarian theology to its practical advice and keen insights. The book is endorsed by GriefShare , an organization which conducts Christ-centered grief support groups in thousands of communities. The author, Robert Kellemen, served more than a dozen years as chair of the Master of Arts in Christian Counseling and Discipleship department at Capital Bible Seminary , where he is now professor-at-large. In his three pastoral ministries, Kellemen has ministered to hundreds of grieving parishioners. He is also founder and CEO of RPM Ministries.

Essay on the Christian and the Church in Politics

Should the church get involved in politics or influence their voting members? What is the church mandate on this issue? How should Christians project themselves? Many Christians are wondering how to respond to the confusion generated by the variety of candidates for public office and the differing perspectives of church leaders who are trying to evaluate the political picture. This book, first offered in French, offers guidelines to assist Christians in determining how best to participate in the political arena as citizens who have a dual citizenship: in heaven and in the country of their residence.

All of us are running.

At issue is not with whom we compete, but what course we take and how we finish.

It is the race of life — The Great Human Race

Knute Larson writes candidly and honestly about running in the marathon of life. He knows it’s not easy. As a runner himself, Larson uses the imagery of running and compares it to life and personal discipline.

In a time of fear and uncertainty, join Knute Larson in this most personal book as he talks about issues of the heart and struggles we all face.

Finding courage one step at a time —

Toward the right finish.

Knute Larson runs in his everyday life, but he also knows the significance of the marathon of life. As a pastor for 43 years and a church coach for eight, he understands the many choices and mistakes that go into training for, then running, a marathon of either kind. This book contains a conversation between Larson and readers about how to run their best race – the great human race.

Most Christians in the United States live their financial lives similar to non-Christians. When their income increases, their standard of living increases and Christians have no more money to give than they had before the increase in income.

The book explains how setting financial maximums on our lifestyle can be used as a method of generating additional free cash available to use to donate to church, missions, and/or help our families and the poor.

Living utilizing maximums is setting limits on how we will live our financial lives so we are increasingly more generous as our income increases. Other authors have mentioned this concept, setting limits, but most do not outline how such a lifestyle is possible and what maximums could mean to generosity. This book does this. It explains how maximums can be implemented and how this could affect giving over a lifetime.

While this book is relevant to all Christians, it has special significance to college students and younger Christians who are developing their theological understanding of money and deciding how they will spend God’s money during their life.

Timothy Clothier believes that all spiritual gifts have been given for the purpose of building up the body. “To ignore certain gifts, even because someone has abused them, is to truncate what God intends to develop,” he says.

In To Each is Given: Spiritual Gifts in the Life of the Local Church, Clothier seeks to define signs and wonders and spiritual gifts, then carefully considers how they relate to one another, and considers whether each is for the church today.
